“The best way to cheer yourself up is to try to cheer somebody else up.”
~Mark Twain
The #1 most effective action you can talk when you are feeling down for any reason, is to put your concerns aside for a moment and seek out someone who could use someone to lean on. Provide that person with your time, your ear, and any assistance they could use to get them in a better place. This action of selflessness has been shown to improve your own sense of well-being, positivity and hopefulness.
Ideally, this is one to reflect on and absorb when you are feeling upbeat, enthusiastic and hopeful. It is harder to understand when you are feeling low.
