“Most of our so-called reasoning consists in finding arguments for going on believing as we already do.”

~James Harvey Robinson

Our human nature is to hold on to beliefs even in the face of overwhelming contrary evidence.  It is the strength of our humanity, however, which allows us to think intentionally about beliefs different than our own.  It is only with this intention that we can learn, reflect, and evolve our thinking.  This does not mean denying our core values, but rather accepting that the world evolves and so must our thinking.

Peace in your family, in your workplace, in your community, and in the world, depends on our ability to explore, accept, and embrace the richness of diversity in thought and ways of living of every individual and every culture.  But it is not just peace that comes from embracing diversity – it also drives innovation and breakthroughs.
